One hundred masterpieces by Picasso, some never exhibited before, confronted by the greatest names in contemporary art: David Hockney, Jasper Johns, Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat…
Both chronological and presented by theme, the exhibition traces the various stages in the reception of Picassso’s work by critics and artists, the steps that formed the legend associated with his name. Major stylistic periods and certain iconic works by Pablo Picasso such as “Les Demoiselles d’Avignon” and “Guernica” are echoed by contemporary works signed Hockney, Johns, Lichtenstein, Kippenberger, Warhol, Basquiat and Jeff Koons.
